Conversations User Guide - the Headers

It's important to realise that Which? Conversations is not - strictly speaking - a forum, although it does fulfil all the classical definitions of the original Latin term.

It's not a forum...

Which? Conversations is actually a structured Blog. It's Wordpress based, but heavily customised by the in-house team. There's also a set of FAQs it offers, but these sometimes miss the mark for the average user. So to help we provide these useful user-friendly tips.

1. Identify the problem.

There are four of them:

a. How to find a conversation you might be interested in

b. How to reply to an existing post

c. How to find the most recent posts

d. How to find your own post to see if anyone's replied to it.

The last is the trickiest but it's largely answered by (c). To find the most recent posts look at the top of each page: the headers across read

Topics - Our Community - Recent Activity - Need Help

Go to Recent Activity. Sneakily, it has a drop-down menu which reveals three items: All Recent Activity - Latest Comments - Latest Conversations. Now, at first glance you might wonder why there's both All recent activity and Latest comments. Well, the first shows comments by registered users and all new conversations. The second shows comments by all users but not new conversations. The third - Latest Conversations - is only the most recent Conversations or, if you prefer, Topics.

Clear? Well, all you really need to know is that the first item will show you all the most recent comments that matter by date order, as well as any new conversations.

The other Headers

Most are self-explanatory, but the last header is your screen name. Clicking on that takes you to your profile page
